Ah so close!
Our Novice Reps. succumbed to a strong team from Essex yesterday to end their drive for the coveted OMHA championship. The final game was an exciting one for the fans when it looked like the young Thunder team might rally back from a 3-0 deficit but alas it was not to be. The final score was 5-2 for Essex. Congratulations to Essex and to the Thunder Novices for a fine showing in the OMHA play downs and a fine season. The Novices were finalists in the Thorold tournament and Champions in Napanee. They also claimed the prize at the Regional Silver Stick in Pelham going on to represent Caledonia in the International Silver Stick in St. Claire Shores. They will continue their quest for a local Championship along with several other Thunder teams as the Southern County playoffs and Haldimand Local League playoffs continue.
