Development Program for Our Players and Coaches

Coaches Roundtable Established

Caledonia & District Minor Hockey Association is committed to excellence. We believe strongly that a focus on the ongoing development of our players and coaches is essential for the long term growth and success of our players, coaches and teams. A separate and distinct sub-committee was established within the Executive with the mandate to provide the funds necessary to improve our development program.  But it became apparent that we needed the feedback of the coaches in order to best determine how to spend those development dollars. 

The establishment of the Coaches Roundtable will hopefully give us the opportunity to hear directly from the Coaches on what is needed.  The goals of the program are to create a forum to allow coaches to share information/ideas.  Also to open the lines of communication with the Board for coach input on player development and the policies that impact players and coaches.  Jim Rogers and Dennis Edwards, two experienced coaches in CDMHA have agreed to facilitate the meetings, take minutes, etc. and bring your ideas, comments back to the Board for review.  We feel we will have the most success if we are all working together toward the same goals.

Speak-out now available on-line

Now with Online Speak Out e-learning and certification through Respect in Sport, the OMHA offers another option to OMHA Members seeking this certification.  The program also allows participants to complete the certification in segments, over a maximum 30-day time period, thus providing additional flexibility.  Visit the OMHA website at www.omha.net for information and details on accessing this training and certification.
